SPECIAL MEETING OF TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Kaitaia Town Board was held on Wednesday (yesterday) to consider the granting of a building permit and a land subdivision plan. A permit was requested by the owner for the alteration of the old library building into a dwelling, but as the area of the section is less than half of that required by the Board’s by-laws, one-fifth of an acre is required for dwellings, the permit could not be granted. The sub-division plan of a property opposite the hospital was approved. PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE STATEMENT FOR FEBRUARY Estates of a value of £369,773 wei'e reported and accepted for administration by the Public Trustee during the month of February, 1937. The total value of the estates under administration by the Public Trustee on the 31st March, 1936, was £60,660,310 and the new business for the eleven months ended 28th February, 1937, was £5,277,517. Grants of administration made by the Court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 138 fo* the month. During the month 355 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were deposited for safe custody by living testators and 319 existing wills were revised to provide for changes desired by the testators.
