Grace Cup No. 3
Northern Zone Final Last Saturday the Kaitaia Tennis Club’s Grace Cup team defeated the Kaiaka Club’s team in the final of the Northern zone competition. Kaitaia will now play the winners of the Southern zone in the final for the Cup. The Cup is for competition among tennis clubs of the four Northern counties. m The results were (Kaitaia players being mentioned first) : R. W. Smith won from A. Christensen, 6-0 6-2. T. H. Wilson won from A. Christensen, 6-5 6-5. T. H. Wilson won from W. Christensen, 6-1 6-2. Smith and Harold Thompson won from W. and H. Christensen, 6-3 6-0. Kerikeri Defeats Ivaikohe '.ln a match for the Grace Cup No 3 played at Kerikeri last weekend, the home team defeated Kaikohe by 4 matches to 1. Following are the results, Kaikohe players being mentioned first in each case : D. Mac Lean lost to O’Carroll, 1-6 4-6. R. Ridgley won from Greig, 6-4 4-6 8-6. D. Mac Lean lost to Greig, 3-6 10-8 3-6. R. Ridgley lost to O’Carrol, 1-6 6-8. R. D. Mac Lean and L. Taylor lost to Eames and Walker, 3-6 3-6.
