Wedding of Miss Jean Steed
The wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church at Kaitaia of Jean Catherine Agnes, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs Thomas Steed, of Waiharara, and Henry Kealsie Wilson, younger son of Mrs and the late Mr. Alexandra Moffat, of Kohumaru, Mangonui, the Rev. W. H. Nicholas being the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father looked charming in a frock of white silk crepe-de-cbine and white lace with embroidered brussells net veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaid, Miss Ella Steed wore a frock of peach crepe-de-chine and a white hat Mr. George Steed, brother of the bride, supported the bridegroom. Miss B' Houston, of Mangonui, played the wedding music. Later a reception was held at the bride’s parents’residence where Mrs T. Steed, mother of the bride, received a large number of guests wearing a frock of blue crepe-de-chiue. Mrs Moffat, mother of the groom, wore white romain crepe. During the wedding breakfast Mr. R. L. McNabb acted as toastmaster. Dancing was also indulged in during the evening. Mr. and Mrs Moffat later motored to their future home at Kohumaru, Mangonui.
