Stock To Be Proud Of
Recent Additions to Mr. W. Imms’ Pedigree Polled Angus Herd
Mr. Wm. Imms, of Okaihau, who has a reputation of some standing in North Auckland as a breeder of Polled Angus cattle, recently attended the stud sales in Hawkes Bay of Kinross White and W. A. McFarlane. His intention was to buy the best blood procurable for inclusion in his stud, and he purchased three cows from Kinross White and two cows and two bulls from W. A. McFarlane.
The sire of the two cows, “Lo Bello of Omarunui” and “Lotus of Omarunui” purchased at Kinross White’s sale is the famous sire, “Commander of Omarunui,” who is the winner of many prizes, and five championships including N.Z. Royal Champion, 1928. The sire of the third cow “Brocade of Omarunui” is “Taffy” and he sold for 500 guineas. One of the cows bought at Me-
Farlane’s sale “Opera of Waiterenui,” was sired by “Sentry of Woodlands” who has four generations of imported sires. The other cow, “Pencil of Waiterenui,” was sired by “Eland of Bleaton,” imported. Two two-year bulls were also purchased from this stud— | “Theory of Waiterenui,” sire “Nelson of Waiterenui” by “Mullier Elbow,” imported ; and “Park of Glen Aros.” I sire “Ivanhoe of Waiterenui.” Mr. Imms is undoubtedly sparing no effort or expense to produce ; Polled Angus stud stock on his farm near Okaihau which will be second to none in the province and probably in New Zealand. The reputation which Mr. Imms now has will no
doubt be enhanced by the addition of new blood of undoubted quality, and his friends will look forward with interest to a successful result.
