KAIAKA WINS FROM KAITAIA The first county tennis competition match was played last Saturday at Kaitaia, when the local senior team defeated the Kaitaia senior team. The results were as follows, Kaiaka names being mentioned first: Ladies’ Singles Mrs. H. Christensen won from Mrs. H. Thompson, 7-1. Miss E. White won from Miss S. Wood, 7-3. Miss A. Henehan won from Mrs. D. Barry, 7-4. Mrs. W. Christensen won from Mrs. R. Kelly, 7-2. Miss I. • Gardiner won from Mrs. H. Watts, 7-3. Miss F. White wop from Miss D. Mclntosh, 7-2. Men’s Singles A. Chistensen lost to R. Smith, 4-9. There was insufficient time to play the remainder of the men’s singles. Ladies’ Doubles Mrs. H. and Mrs. W. Christensen won from Mrs. H. Thompson and Miss S. Wood, 7-2. Miss A. Henehan and Miss E. White won from Mrs. D. Barry and Mrs. R. Kelly, 7-3. Miss I. Gardiner and Miss F. White lost to Mrs. H. Watts and Miss D. Mclntosh, 6-7. Men’s Doubles A. and W. Christensen lost to R. Smith and H. Thompson, 4-9. H. Christensen and R. Stitt lost to T. Wilson and R. Kelly, 6-9. H. Yates and T. Gardiner won from W. Kirton and C. Bowman, 9-7. Combined Doubles W. and Mrs. H. Christensen lost to R. Smith and Mrs. H. Thompson, 6-7. H. Christensen and Miss E. White won from H. Thompson and Miss S. Wood, 7-5. A. Christensen and Miss A. Henehan won from T. Wilson and Mrs. D. Barry, 7-6. R. Stitt and Mrs. W. Christensen lost to R. and Mrs. R. Kelly, 5-7. H. Yates and Miss I. Gardiner won from W. Kirton and Mrs. H. Watts, 7-4. T. Gardiner and Miss F. White won from C. Bowman and Miss D. McIntosh, 7-6.
