Development of Vaughan Estate * The progress of the Vaughan Estate has advanced another step. The water question is definitely decided, and arrangements have been made by the government officials with Mr. *O. 0. Perry, for water and access rights. Three pontoon loads of threeinch pipes have been delivered at the Umawera landing, and are being distributed along the route which totals between five and six miles. It was found impossible to lorry the pipes over the Tio road, previous cartage having made the road impassable for heavy traffic, hence the water route to Umawera. It is understood that the work of laying the pipes will be 'done by relief labour. The digging of the trench has been let by contract to Mr. W. Oliver, who intends using a horse team and plough for the work wherever possible.
