Pedigree Red Poll Herd

A. visitor t@ Mangonui during the holidays was Mr; Wild of the Agricultural College, Feilding, and the Secretary to tlie Red Poll Cattle Breeders’ Association. He w.as on a visit to Mr. VV. S. McLea, who owns the Mangonui herd of A.A. Pedigree Red Poll cattle. This is tlie most northerly registered herd of these cows and was established only about six months ago. Considering the poor land Mr. Wild was very pleased with tlie results siiown and tlie condition in which the herd was especially the young stock horn at Mangonui, which appear to be very forward. The poor hungry gum land does not seem to handicap these thrifty cattle. Unfortunately none of tiiis herd will be seen at the Royal Show at Auckland this year as they cannot be got. into proper show condition in time to do them justice.
