TOKERAU BEACH NOTES
The Beach is already the centre of an influx of campers and tourists, who speak highly of the camping sites and the beauty of the surroundings, * * * * The Whatuwhiwhi Women’s Institute n, was officially opened two weeks ago by Nurse Smedley, and although still in its infancy, it is making good progress. * * * * Tenders were called at the meeting of the Tokerau Beach Sports Club, which was held last Saturday, for the Kapa Maori and Refreshment Booths, and these were arranged for. A permit from the Minister of Marines, to use the beach on New Year’s Day, was secured by the Sports Club. It is anticipated that some of the Auckland Aero Club.s planes will visit the Beach on Sports Dav. *** ' * The roads through the district are in perfect order for travelling and intending visitors to the Beach Sports on New Year’s Day, need have no fear of their cars being held up. * * * * The farming fraternity are making the best of bad prices by sending increased quantities of cream to the factory. The various cultivations in the district are looking very well at present.
