Fairburn-Kaiaka
Two Kaiaka Veterans Among those who came to the polling place to do their duty as citizens by recording their votes were Kaiaka’s two remaining pioneers, Mr. W. Gardiner and Mr. C. Christensen. Mr. Gardiner had to be assisted to the booth, as his eyesight is now very dim, but Mr. Christensen, in spite of his 86 years, is in full possession of all his faculties and takes a keen interest in current affairs. He went to Kaitaia and back one evening to hear one of the candidates for Parliament expound his policy. Visit of the Rev. R. Grice The Rev. R. Grice, Methodist minister, visited the district last week renewing old acquaintances, he being stationed in this circuit previous to his present charge. Among other good work done, Mr. Grice is remembered for his activities in establishing Bible Classes in several centres and was very popular with the young people. Mr. Grice is on a healthrecruiting trip, and we hope he will be soon fit for duty again.
