No. 1 and 2 Groups comprise Kaeo, Oruru, Victoria Valley and Takahue districts. No. 3 and 4 Groups include Kaitaia, Awanui and Kaingaroa districts. The highest herd in Group 1 was owned by Mr. W. H. Lane, of Kaeo, whose 46 cows averaged 47.651b5. of fat for 30 days. The highest cow gave 801bs. of fat, and was also owned by Mr. W. H. Lane. • In Group 2 the highest herd was that of Mr. H. M, Thompson, of Victoria Valley, whose 11 cows averaged 45.561b5. of fat. The highest cow gave 761bs. fat, the owner being Mr. S. W. Switzer, of Takahue. The highest herd in Group 3 is the property of Mr. E. S. Brent, of Kaitaia, the 8 cows giving an average of 481bs. of fat. The highest cow gave 811bs. of fat, the owner being Mr. J. L. Price of Awanui. In Group 4 the highest herd was that of Mr. C. S. Puckey, of Kaitaia, whose 95 cows averaged 45.441b5. fat. The highest cow, which gave 831bs. fat, was also owned by Mr. C. S. Puckey.
