BIBLE CLASS RALLIES
The recent visit of the Rev. J. D. Grocott to the district was an outstanding success. Mr. Grocott, the travelling secretary of the Methodist Young Men’s Bible Class movement, conducted the morning service in the Fairburn church, which was crowded. In the afternoon a combined Methodist rally was held in the church, attended by some 50 young people representing Fairburn, Rangitihi and Paranui Bible Classes, with some young people from Kohumaru. Apologies for absence were received from Mr. H. Bunby of Kohumaru, and the Oruaiti Bible Class. Mr. Grocott was again the speaker and delivered an inspiring and challenging address relating to Bible Class work.
On Monday evening a rally organised by the Youth Council was held at Takahue, where representatives from the Fairburn, Rangitihi, Kaitaia and Takahue classes spent an enjoyable evening. Mr. Grocott gave an address on “New Zealand’s challenge to its Youth.” Further arrangements were made for the Labour Day rally, and after supper had been handed round a delightful evening ended.
