FARMERS* UNION EXECUTIVE.

A meeting of the above body was held at Ohaeawai on Saturday morning the 2nd inst. Among those present were Messrs. J W. Jones, A E. Robinson (provincial secretary), E- L. Walker, H. K. Hatrick, D. H. Lewis, W. Bose, Bates, A W. Masters, T. J. Coalter, Fell, Giles and Robinson (jnr.) The chair was occupied by Mr. J. W. Jones. The secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting which were confirmed, and dealt with the correspondence which was accepted by the meeting, Mr. Jones moved that powers of voting and debate on the executive be extended to Messrs Fell and Miller. This motion was seconded by Mr. E. L. Walker.

Mr, Masters moved that the future meetings of the executive be held on a Monday and that in consideration to the provincial secretary the locality be Ohaeawai This motion was seconded by Mr. Ross. Several members of the executive who had attended the Provincial Conference at Whangarei spoke of its undoubted success, there being an attendance of over 150 delegates besides a number of ladies and other visitors.

The agenda paper was a large one and contained some 180 remits. Of this 13© were passed, 25 rejected, 10 lost, and the remainder weie either referred back to the branches or to the executive.

Spec'al mention was made by those who attended the Conference of the valuable information and assistance given by Capt. Rushworth. Mr. Ross was also highly commended for the able manner in which he conducted the Conference and for the tact and patience he displayed in the disposing of its business. As a result of a motion put to the conference, Mr. Ross was unanimously re-elected president for the ensuing year. The meeting was brought to an end bv a hearty vote of thanks being passed for the service rendered by the Chairman, and the adjournment was followed by a meeting'of the Country Party.
