Must Come To The Front.
Owing to the expense involved and the risk attached through distaics in growing crop;, silage making must come to the Iron , as it i= ma le from pasture grass when the growth is at its height, and, in quite a number of cases would otherwise be wasted. Really speaking the making of this surplus grass into ensilage is turning what would be wasted feed into a valuable food, which is stored in such a form that it will keep until it is required and perhaps carry the cows over a lean dry period and so prolong their milking season, making a higher buttrr-fat return for the year.
