Library Committee Meeting Librarian Appointed
A meeting of the Kaitaia Library committee was held in the Library Hall on Saturday last at 2 p.m. The appointment of a librarian was considered, Mrs Wilson having resigned. It was finally decided to appoint Mrs Alwin Matthews, her duties to commence at the beginning of October. A discussion took place on the money that will come to the Library from the Stanton Bequest, and it was finally decided to leave the matter for a general meeting to deal with. The committee made the following recommendation: That the money received from the Stanton Bequest be kept in a separate fund and interest only be expended, this interest to be used in the purchase of books of a permanent value and. that the books be stamped, “Stanton Bequest.”
