Flight Accomplished,
The Big Leap, From Australia To N,Z. Events have happened during the past few days that will remain in the annals of the history of New Zealand and Australia for ever. The Tasman Sea has been bridged by air, the flight of the Southern Cross has been accomplished. These airmen are the pioneers in aerial navigation in the southern Pacific, and like the old oioncers of New Zealand and Australia, they have laid the foundation for an immeasurable future in aerial transit between these countries. Leaving Richmond at 5.40 p.m on Monday Captain KingsfordSmith and his party crossed the Australian coast a quarter ot an hour later. Travelling at a speed of 90 miles an hour, a course was set for Cook Strait, everything went well and a safe landing was made ahead of schedule time at Christchurch. Public receptions are being given the airmen, and showers of congratulatory messages have been received by them from all parts ot the world. The future movements of the Southern Cross and the aviators are at present uncertain,
