In reply to representations made by Colonel Belli M-Pt the Minister of.Fublic Works replies as follow*: Pern Flat'Road: That the question ol metalling portion of+the a bore road on the Pcria side of the Waikainga bridge, about 20 chains, will receive cartful and urgent consideration. Marlow 'School to County 'Boundary. The Minister has authorised th- expenditure of the free grant of fijo, and it h contemplated m-'k'sg a start with the re-rorm-ation at an early date. Takahue—Broadwood Road The-Ministor hat authorised the expenditure of £350 30 the Ta-kanue-Bmadwood road. Waiotu—Jordan Road. TheWhangarei County Council has been advised to submit prcposs's for further works on the above road, and immejiialcly these have been approved, the necessary authority will be issued, but this, of course, depends ppou * v .s question as *0 whether or not the local bodv adheres to its dflci&ion to include this road on the lidt to be provided for ont of the extra funds recently allo-i cated. Aponga-Titoki Road The Minister states that there is approximate!, 120 chains of thi6 roadJO(iuirvQg«ttejritiios. The estimated cost tor formation culverts sod woe bridge is m the vicinity £7OO, but as the total allocation for the Wnangarei County Council has been fully autuorised it is not possible to provide any funds during the current financial year. The question of providing a grant will receive every consideration when the Road estimates for 1936-29 art being compiled. Dysart’s Deviation The Minister states with regard to Dysart’s deviation—situated on the Marua-Whananaki road—that die deviation is approximately 55 chains long. The cost of formation is in the vicinity of £570, and there is also a bridge required which will cost £7OO. It is not possible, during the current financial year, to make any (rant to enable this work to be put in hand, but the question of providing funds wiH recieve every consideration when the forthcoming estimates are being compiled.
