There will be sulphate of ammonia or synthetic nitrate or to supply the nitrogen requirements of the soil; thefe-will be arhrhonum phosphates for the soils vhich need both nitrogen and phosphates; and these will c m ' plet#cheirical compound fertilisers, containing the three chief plant foods, to be used by all who cultiv te the land intensively Nitrogen, yiiosphateS and Potash form the Trinity. It is certain that great prosperity will come to those'cOrmtr ts which are first to seize and apply the new and great Opportunities which present themselves now that the synthetic manufacture of fertilisers is an established fact. Nitram Ltd., therefore, feels that it has not onlv a commercial duty to fulfil, but also a national and Imperial duty. This striking address is in a way really a message to the farmers and the farm scientists Of the Empire. Already the activities of Nitram Ltd. are by no means confined to Great Britain. Considerable developments in the Dominions and Dependencies are in progress. For example a propaganda an d marketing agency is in active operation in India, whilst in other parts of the Empire most careful thought and experience are being applied to hasten the dawn of the new era of Nitrogen. Almost daily, an authoritative announcement is expected of the concrete services which the Empire organisation lor the-production and distribution of nitrogen fertilisers, can render to the increased producuon of foodstuffs 1 and essential raw materials throughout the world.
