An Optimistic Outlook
Mr T H Lowry, the well-known pastoralist and sportsman of Hawke’s Bay, who recently returned from a visit to England, declared that trade was getting better every day, and was much better than was the case when he was there four years ago. He said that he had spoken to bankers, agents, and 10 many shopkeepers and other business people • and they all said the same thing, that business was pretiy good and there was little to worry about. The labouring classes, j seeued to Mr Lowry, to have ' settled down to a peftod ol pe.icefulness, and to have resolved on regaining Britain’s old prosperity. Speaking as a farmer, he said he felt sute it is going to be a good season for us in the English maikets—for wool, meat, and particularly for lamb.
