The following inkresting extracts are taken from a report of a speech given at Palmeiston North, by Mr W M Singleton, of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture: The value of the dairy produce export had steadily risen until at the present time it amounted to some fifteen millions sterling. Wool export, I3s4millions. and meat so that at the present time the dairy farmer was the greatest producer. It was mentioned that another very marked feature was the improvement in the quality of the cows now bred in New Zealand. In this country at present there were about 90 cows per too of the population. Denmaik came next with 46 to every 100 population, while any other country was less than half that number.
