Guardianship Of Infants’ Bill.

Marriage of Minors. With the addition of a new clause moved by Mr R P Hudson (Motueka), the Guardianship of Infants Amendment Bill, which gives Magistrates power to consent to the marriage of persons under 21 years of age, was put through its final stages and passed by the House of Representatives. In committee, Mr. Hudson moved that a clause should be added, providing that, in the event of the death ot the parents or one of the parents of an infant, the Court might order that the grandparents or one of them, should have access to the infant, at such time and place as the Court thought proper. The clause was agreed to, the Minister of Justice (Hon, F. J. Rolleston) saying that there could be no real objection to it and it did not affect the question ot guardianship in any way.
