Will Dispense With Turnips In anannual address to the shareholders of the N.Z Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd, the chairman, Mr Dynes Fulton, said that the past season’s output was a record for the Dominion. Climatic conditions, together with the increased use of fertilisers, brought abundance of feed of good quality, and kept production up exceedingly well, almost to midwinter, and had to a very large extent compensated suppliers lor the lower payout for the season. He felt convinced that by using fertilisers liberally, say twice a year, spring and autumn, they could verv successfully do away with a good deal of the turnip growing that had been the practice, for a number, of years past. The greater growth of grass would maintain-,the.moisture longer during a dry spell, and they would certainly benefit by the better quality of th< ir produce, if they would do without turnips.
