Policeman’s Lapse Excuses Prove Fruitless
Hagraves the Mangawai district constable left his post and went on a drinking bout because he was haunted by a gruesome sight of a man who had blown his head off. Hagraves came up for sentence yesterday for theft, false pretences and deserting post. Mr. Hunt S.M, placed him on two years probation and fined him £lO.
