A PERSONAL EXPLANATION.
Mr. Harding stated at the Dominion Conference that a prominent gentleman in the North had said that he (Mr. Harding) was opposed to the principle of the Government guarantee to the Agricultural Bank. This was not so and he had written to the gentleman that he saw no reason why the guarantee should not he given and that he approved of the Bill as brought before the Committee. There had been a misunderstanding, but he wished to put himself clear before the Conference that both now and always he had agreed fully with the great majority of farmers on these points.
