Takahue A—Takahue B, at Takahue Oruru a bye SATURDAY’S RESULTS. SENIORS. Kaitaia 8 v. Takahue nil. Seniors. Takahue A 24 v. Waipapakauri 8. Only two competition fixtures were played on Saturday. In the senior match Kaitaia defeated Takahue by Bto nil. As j a result of the recent heavy rain, the ground was very slippery. Handling of the ball was difficult with the result that the game was patchy. The try-getters for the winners were Souter and Kaipo, the last named converting his own try. Mr. L. Mclntosh was referee. The Houhora seniors defaulted to Oruru and the juniors to Takahue B. The Oruru juniors defaulted to Awanui. SCHOOL GAMES Last Saturday the Kaitaia Public School football and basketball teams journeyed to Pukepoto to play return matches with the school there. Thegames were played in a fine dry field lent by Mr. Masters. The basketball was played first, and resulted in a win tor Pukepoto by 28 to nil. Miss Vyner controlled the game. The football team from Kaitaia were three players short, and to avoid taking's off any of his boys Mr. Gracie kindly lent I

three boys to Kaitaia. Kaitaia won the toss and elected to play with the wind Douglas Gallagher (Kaitaia) soon scored a try. Stuart Matthews failed to convert. Soonafterthis RebsonStevens (Pukepoto) scored a try from a line scrum, Not converted. In the third quarter Don W hitefield scored twice within a few minutes, Stuart Matthews and Douglas Gallagher csnve; ting. In the last quarter no score was made, although on one occasion Errol Jameson made a valiant attempt to cross the line. Kaitaia playrng against the wind managed to keep Pukepoto in their half. Nearly all the Kaitaia boys were in good form and their play was much better than in in previous games. The game ended Kaitaia 13, Pukepoto 3. A reminder is giver, of the schools sev-en-a-side tourney, entries for which close on Saturday night. FIXTURES. The senior matches for neat Saturday are as shown above. These are the last games for the shield comptetion lor the season. The juniormatches will be continued on Saturday next and the following Saturday the fixtures being as shown.
