+ This tablet was erected by the Europeans and Maoris of the Kaitaia Parochial District to the glory of God and in grateful remembrance of the long and faithful services of Mary Ann Matthews and Matilda Puckey, and to mark the centenary of their arrival in New Zealand 1824-1924.
