MAN’S LONELY DEATH.
On Saturday last a Native woman discovered in a creek at Te Hapua the body of a gumdigger named Thomas Jones, aged about 64 years. The body, which had been in the water for some time, bad the legs tied at the ankles, attached to which was a sack of mud, indicating suioide. The body was taken by Mr. Cheeseman and party to Te Hapua and interred, no inquest being deemed necessary.
