CHURCH OF ENGLAND. A meeting of the Vestry of St. Saviour’s Church, Kaitaia, was held on Monday, 7th November, when it was decided that a further meeting be held next week to again consider matters of importance to the local Church. Mr. Bedggood was instructed to estimate the cost ot erecting the Parish Hall. The Vicar, in presenting his monthly report for October, said he had been entrusted with a remit to Synod with regard to a propaganda committee. The matter was well received by Synod, many members speaking of the necessity of propaganda and publicity work. As a result the desired committee was appointed. The Synod laid great stress on the care of young people after confirmation. The excellent system of Bible classes carried out by the Presbyterians was referred to. For this not only is a Parish Hall a necessity, but a Bible Class-room as part of the Hall is essential. Full information re the working ot parish hails has been procured for the benefit of the Vestry. One point not generally known is that legally the Vicar has possession of the key.
