Mr. J. Jones, auctioneer, New Citv Markets, Auckland, reports sales as folJows:— The market this week has been steady and a very large volume of business has been put through. Values in the poultrymarket has been very satisfactory, and we penned a large number, all pen accommodation being filled. For good heavy birds competition was keen ; light arc not m demand. Pi gs were lower in value Potatoes are steady with no marked change in value. Fruit was in heavy supply, also a splendid demand. Butter and eggs value about the same as last report Grain market quiet. We quote : Poultry—Prime roosters up to 6s. td. good 45.9 d. up to 55.4 d; cockerels 25.3 d to 35.7 d.; chickens Is. to is.Bd.; ducks 25.3 d. to 45.11 d.; geese 4s-.6d to ss.- hens good heavy 3 5.6 d. to 4 5. 4 d.; good 3 s. to 35.4 d.; light 2s. to 2s-5d.; turkeys (none marketed); ducklings iod. to ls.4d each. Pigs—Good supply.
