The Romney.

Joseph E. Wing, one of the most popular writers on rural aflairs in the United States, has been investigating agriculture in Argentina, and has given his impressions to the “ American Sheep-breeder.” Speaking of sheep-breeding and the Boniney in particular he says: “We can get moet good from the lesson of South America by studying their systems of breeding. All of the southern extremity, Chili and Patagonia, is going in strongly for the Eomney ram. In South America they have been found the best sheep to oross with the Merino. By their use good mutton is secured. Eomney rams have changed the sheep breeding of Now Zealand and the south of South America. I think Bornrey rams would do the same splendid work on our range lines. It is a mutton oross that does not cause you to lose your wool, but to gain iusteud. Komneys are the hardiest breed of sheep known. I hope to see thoueands of Eomney rams in use in the United States within a few years.”
