Taylor-Carrington Musical Comedy Company.

Last Saturday the above well-known theatrioal company paid a visit to Mangonui and took as their repertoire “ A Husband’s Night Out ” and “ A Lucky Irishman.” Social events have been following one another so quickly lately that Harris’ Hall was not quite so full as might have been expected. It is a great pity, as it is not enoouraging to ether companies to tour the North when they find they are not appreciated thoroughly. The evening’s entertainment opened with the duologue 4 ‘ A Husband’s Night Out,” in which Mr. and Mrs. Carrington both acted splendidly. The husband’s pretended intoxioation for tbe purpose of trying his wife, which led up to his reprisals for her jealousy and ultimate reconciliation, was delioately pourtrayed by the aotor who showed consummate art. Mr. Carrington was naturally the oentre figure in “ The Lucky Irishman,” in Which he was well supported by the rest of the company. The audience particularly enjoyed the songs interspersed in the play and encored eaoh number repeatedly.
