Fourteen thousand pounds is to be voted for the recent Easter volunteer manceuvres Amongst other defence items are ordnance ammunition ten thousand pounds, small arms ammunition and cordite L 20,000.

The votes to experimental farms for the erection or buildings, purchase of stock and entertainment of visitors, include the following amounts : Bickerstaffe Liooo, Ruakura L 5500, J'auranga L 1250, Waerenga 1.5000.

Incidental charges embrace a vote of L20,c.00, to cover the expenses of the general election, and Lro,ooo to cover the licensing poll. A new vote is that of 1.600 to eover the salary and expenses of an inspector of fire brigades.

For the Auckland steam services it is proposed to set aside l.r 116. The conveyance cf Auckland’s inland mail involves an expenditure of L 5970.
