Kaeo.
• (From our own Correspondent.) Mr. J. W. Hayes, manager for Messrs. Nisbet, Hayes and Jecentho, returned last steamer after a holiday of three weeks. Mr. Walter Mountain, of Purerua, Bay of Islands, had the misfortune to crush his hand while helping to put some kegs of tallow on board the Greyhound. Mr. Mountain is at present in Kaeo, under the care of Dr. Gilpin, aud it is quite probable that two of the fingers will have to be amputated. Messrs. Mountain and Murray, who are smarting business in Kaeo as butchers, have all arrangements made to start next week. The carpenter is just putting the finishing touch on the shop, which is situated right in the heart of the township.
