To-day s Gazette notifies the following bonuses, in compliance with v resolution of the House of Representutives on colonial industries : — £5,000 for production of 1,000 tons of good pig-iron ; £1,000 bonus for 100 tons steel, made from iron sand ; £2,000 for 250 tons of beetroot sugar ; £2,500 for 100 tous of printing paper, manufactured by machinery ; 4s. per cwt. for cured fish, dry or pickled, exported for consumption abroad. November 19. In the Divorce Court, Seager v. Senger, a decree annulling the marriage, was made absolute. The result of the inquiry respecting the wreck of the City of Newcastle, finds the master solely to blame for leaving the deck in charge of an inexperienced person. He is severely censured, and his certificate has been cancelled. No appeal cases have yet been decided. Auckland, November 18. The Cagli Opera troupe are passengers by the Hero, which arrived to-day. November 19. The Provincial Council opened to-day. A boiler exploded at the soap-works, in Great King-street. A boy's arm was broken, and a man scalded. Ikvercabgill, November 19. The boy Carroll has been sentenced to fourteen clays' imprisonment for placing obstructions on the railway. Tho trial of Morrison, for murdering Simons, is proceeding. lloare, an old offender, has been sentenced to four years' penal servitude for stealing a watch.
