COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING.

The great annual match for the Government prizes has just come off at Christchurch, having commenced on the 2nd, and terminated on the 9th instant. The Championship has again gone to Otago, Captain Wales repeating his victory of last year, although closely pressed by Corporal Carter, of Wellington, who was within eight points of the victor.
