Superintendent's Office, Nelson, August 27, 1866. HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that the following BYLAWS and REGULATIONS, made in accordance with the provisions of the 26th seotion of the " Nelson Scab Act, 1865," shall COME INTO OPERATION on and after the FIRST day of OCTOBER next) and the By-Laws and Regulations now in foroe, published in the Nelson Government Gazette, No. 85, of the 18th November, 1865, shtll, on and after the First day of October next, be null and void, and cease to have any force or effeot. Axpbsd Gbebnfibld, Provincial Secretary. 1. Each Inspector shall keep up such a systematic inspection of the flocks in his district, as to render it impossible for the disease to exist for any length of time in any flock without his detecting it. 2. Eaoh Inspector shall keep copies of the Nelson Scab Act, and of all regulations iv force, which he shall produce at any time when required so to do by the owner of the sheep he may be inspeoting. 3. Licenses issued in accordance with Section 9 of the Nelson Scab Aot, shall be in the form set forth in Schedule D hereunto annexed ; and, in the event of any such license becoming void, the Inspeotor shall give notioe to the holder thereof in the form set forth in Schedule E. 4. All fees received by Inspectors must be paid to the Provincial Treasurer, at the termination of every quarter. 6. Quarterly returns, in the form set forth in Schedule O hereunto annexed, must be regularly forwarded to the Superintendent's office, by each Inspector. 6. Sheep may be introduced into the Province of Nelson from Marlborougb, subject to the provisions of the '* NeUon Scab Act, 1865," and these regulations being strictly complied with ; and not otherwise. 7. The Inspector residing in the Province of Marlborough shall attend to inspect sheep in that province, when called upon so to do, according to priority of application, excepting where a considerable saving of mileage can be effected, when the Inspector may, at hi* discretion, depart from the rale.
