Stock Prospects in Qubensland.— Mr. Hendreng, of Ipswich, in his circular, dated May 31, says :—": — " By advices received from Bonie of the north-western stations, where lambing is now goiDg on, I am informed that, so far as the work has proceeded, the increase is an average of ninety per cent, of flue healthy lambs ; and this is saying a very great deal, when the severity of the previous season is takeu into consideration. At the same time, I am sorry to say that, from parts of the country far inland and more southerly, alarming complaints continue to be made on account of the scarcity of feed and water, but it is to be hoped that this state of matters will Bhortly be succeeded by sufficient rains and abundance of grass, so that stock already contracted for may be enabled to travel to their several destinations, both north and south. The raeat-pre-servingprocess is being energetically carried on by Mr. Davis, at the Town Marie establishment at Ipswich ; many hundred casks of which have been shipped in splendid condition to the London market by recent vessels, where it will doubtless meet with a ready sale. The Redbank Boiling establishment, near to Ipswich, is also in full working order, and, notwithstanding the prolonged drought, plenty of stock (both sheep and cattle) find their way to the pots, the proceeds of which will no doubt pay the squatter much better (taking to account the extremely high price of tallow just now) than the prices obtained in this market some short time ago for the lire stock represented to be fat.
