The position which Campbelltown (Bluff Harbour) | occupies as the first port ot arrival, and last of departure, for the steamers carrying her Majesty's English and Australian Mails, as well as its growing importance as a port of call for sailing vessels of large tonnage, and the faot that it is the southern terminus of the New Zealand Telegraph system, and the railways r already initiated in Southland, which eventually will traverse the whole of the Middle Island, has induced us to establish at this point a GENERAL TELEGRAPH AGENCY. • j The objects we have in view are threefold : — > Firstly — Receiving and transacting all Mercantile Business in which the Telegraphic wire > may be called into requisition. • Secondly — Supplying the Press throughout New Zealand with the latest English and Australaj sian Intelligence, including the state of Markets, Shipping, and General News from all • parts of the Colonies.
