News Of the Day.

STATISTICAL RETURNS. The Government Gazette, of the 30th of July, gives the following returns for the quarter ending the 31st of March last : — Customs Revenue for the several Pbovinces, for the Quarter ending Mabch 31, and corresponding Quarter, 1863.

Impobts to the several Pbovinces, for the Quarter ending 31st Mabch, 1864, and corresponding Quarter, 1863. March Quarter, March Quarter, 1801. 1863.

Expohts from the several Phovinces, for the Quarter ending the 31st Mabch, 1864, and corresponding Quarter, 1863.

Unifobjis. — By the Wellington, 262 uniforms have arrived for our Rifle Volunteers. They will be delivered to the several companies as Boon as practicable.

The Condition of Otago. — Trade in Otago does not appear to be in a very flourishing state, if we are to judge by the number of applications to be made under the Debtors and Creditors Ordinance on the Bth instant. Even the Times is constrained to remark that the list is " a lamentably long " one, the total number of cases for bearing being seventy*
