iEiscelianeous* IVTELSON PERMANENT BUILDING 1.1 SOCIETY, No. 3. Tbustees : J. Potnteb, Esq. I C. Elliott, Esq. .. . J. Sharp, Esq. | H. C. Danish* Esq. Ofeioebs : Bankers — Bank or New Zealand. Solicitor — Mr. H. Adams. Secretary — Mr. Wm. Rout, pro tern. (Committee to be chosenthe first meeting of members.) The success which has attended the Nelson Build* ing Societies Nos. 1 and 2, and the difficulty of more persons availing themselves of the advantages of these societies, on account of the large arrears to be paid, and the amount of entrance fee required as an equivalent for the profits accumulated, connected with the great desire that a third Society should be established, in which members Bhould date their payments from the time they enter, and thus avoid the difficulties of large arrears and entrance fees ; these, and other considerations, have induced the formation of the Nelson Permanent Building Society, No. 3, in which these improvements are safely engrafted upon the sound principles on which the other societies are [ based. ' This society is established on a permanent basis, so that, at whatever time after its commencement a person enters, that, to him individually, will be the 1 commencerijent of the society. I Any person, male or female, juvenile or adult, is ! eligible to be a member, and distance of residence will not affect membership. Country members, after Ist of next month, can send Post-office Orders. To parties who feel disposed to join for an investment only, this society affords peculiar advantages, with undeniable security, their capital being invested in Freehold Land and Buildings producing compound interest, and profits arising from the sale of shares, fines, &c, thus preventing the cares and vicissitudes of business, or the application of their own personal exertions. Shares may be withdrawn at any time after three months from the date of the member's admission, with five per cent, interest on paid-up capital; but, in case of death or insanity, they can be withdrawn I (by giring two months* notice) with the Whole Of the j profits carried to the credit of the member, subject to the deduction of 2s. 6d. per share for the management fund. The shares will be sold by auction to those members who offer the highest premium for priority of advance, but no shares will be sold under £5 per ' centum of the value of the share : this plan affords 1 the greatest amount of benefit with the least attendant evil. Money will be advanced during the interval be* I tween each monthly meeting, by the member paying I an advance of 25 per cent, upon the highebt premium o£ the prior monthly pay-night. Property mortgaged to the society may be sold, redeemed, or exchanged, subject to the rules and regulations of the Bociety. Members paying their subscriptions in advonce will be entitled to a discount of 2s. in the pound per annum for a period of not less than six months. The rules are framed with a strict adaptation to the wants of the industrious classes, and as large an amount of cash will be advanced to the purchasers as is consistent with the just interests of the investors. Shares, £20 each ; monthly payments, 3s. Entrance fee for first share, 2s. 6d., including pass book and copy of rules; and, for each additional share, Is. Interest on realized shares, 10 per cent, per annum Shares to be realized by auction; upset price of each £20 share. £1. Members may withdraw their shares with interest at 5 per cent, per annum. It is estimated that the shares will be paid in full at the end of five years, thus getting £20 for each £9 of subscription, or nearly £125 per cent. The profits of the society will be carried to the credit of the shareholders every six months. Applications for shares will be received by the Secretary, on payment of the entrance-fees, at> his residence, Waimea-street. „ 377 NOTICE. PERMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY of NELSON.
