MARLBOROUGH.
The Provincial Council met at Picton on the 28th of August, to elect a Superintendent, the office having become vacant by the resignation of W. Adams, Esq. Mr. C. Goulter, the speaker, was proposed by Mr. J. Ward, and Captain Baillie was proposed by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Seymour. As no one seconded Mr. Goulter's nomination, Captain Baillie was duly elected. The new Superintendent has resigned his seat in the Provincial Council, and has addressed his late constituents, offering himself for re-election. The Council is summoned to meet on the 24th instant. The Superintendent has appointed W. Adams. Esq., and C. Goulter, Esq., 'as his Executive Council.
