LONDON WOOL REPORT.— JAN. 17.
Since the close of our last; sales the inquiries in our market We not equalled expectations, end although a few contracts have been made, principally for France, stocks are not moving off so rapidly as, considering the activestate of trade in the North, might fairly be looked for. All accounts confirm the fact that consumption will, ere the February-March sales commence, have used up nearly all the old stock, and therefore the probability of a good supply for the first sales of the year will tend to average prices more, and instead of the high rates sometimes established at those sales, manufacturers will be enabled to supply immediate requirements at prices somewhat commensurate with the value of goods. The contingents supplied by the Moors in and around Mogador, amount to 44,100 cavalry, and 1 16,700 infantry^ who have all proceeded to the seat of hostilities, in order to take part in the holy war (as it has been deeland), now raging near Tetuaa,
