In consequence of numerous expressions of disappointment and regret at the non-publication of the above work for the current year which have repeatedly come to the notice of the proprietors of the LyHelton Times, they have determined upon resuming its publication in order to meet tho requirements of the colony. The ALMANAC for 1859 will contain, besides a carefully-constructed EPHEMERIS a.id CALENDAR, a complete OFFICIAL DIRECTORY for tho ISLANDS, a compendium of COLONIAL STATISTICS, a COASTING DIRECTORY according to the latest authorities, Political, Ecclesiastical, Agricultural, and Mercantile Information, and a large amount of other matter interesting and useful to all classes in the colony. TO GENERAL ADVERTISERS. The New Zealand Almanac, commanding as it hti3 always done an extensive sale throughout New Zealand, offers a circulating medium not otherwise to be met with. The terms for Advertisements are: — for every inch of space (page wide), 35. ; or, per page (foolscap octavo), 12s. Every pupil applying for admission must have conipleted his ninth year, and will be expected to be able to read and write with facility, and to have mastered the first four rules of arithmetic. As the completion of this establishment will involve a considerable outlay, the projectors are desirous of ascertaining the amount of support likely to be received.
