The long-expected Chieftain arrived from England on Sunday last, after a passage of 147 days from Gravesend. The vessel has brought several passengers and a considerable amount of cargo for this port. It was said that during tho passage some disturbances occurred amongst the crew, but it will be seen by a letter given below that there was no foundation for the report. By the Tasmanian Maid, from Wellington on Saturday, several passengers by the ship Robert Small came on to their destination. We hear that this vessel is not coming on to Nelson, but that the cargo for this place will probably be forwarded by the White Swan. The Robert Small is to be taken up as a wool vessel.
