Adams, solicitor, Nelson, will be rewarded for his trouble. EXPLORATION FOR AURIFEROUS COUNTRY. AT a PUBLIC MEETING held in the Court House, Nelson, on the evening of Thursday, the 14th January, it was resolved — " That it is highly desirable that subscription lists be opened for the purpose of raising a sum of money to be expended in an exploration in the Aorere district, with a view to discovering fresh auriferous country, to which the labour of the diggers might be transferred without loss of time, on their present claims becoming worked out ; and in cutting tracks thereto. "It is probable that the Provincial Government will, under certain conditions, contribute towards this object, so that something may be immediately done in anticipation of a more fully developed and extensive exploration scheme, for which it is hoped the Provincial Council will vote funds during its present session. Subscription lists are lying at the Trafalgar, Masonic, and Wakatu Hotels. The following gentlemen were appointed a committee to carry out the objects of the meeting : — Messrs. W. L. Wrey, W.
