Superintendent's Office, Nelson, »_, October 22d, 1849. — It having came to the know-'-L\ ledge of the Resident Agent of the New Zealand Company, that certain PARTI BS are in the habit of unlawfully TRESPASSING upon the large ISLAND at the mouth of the Waimea Biver, and DESTROYING the RABBITS there in large quantities for sale ; and further, of CUTTING aud REMOVING WOOD from the same place : NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Mr. WILLIAM DALE has been appointed KEEPER of the said Island, and that no person whatever will be allowed to shoot, or otherwise kill or take away rabbits or other stock, or cut or remove any wood from the said island, without the written permission of the said William D axe, or of the ondersigned.
