V IhK TIMBER LICENSES. "MTESSRS. FELL and SEYMOUR will -LTJ. be prepared, on or after the Ist day of August, to grant LICENSES for the cutting and removing timber, shingles, fencing, or firewood, from any sections of land in respect of which they are agents, on the following Terms and Regulations :— That the sum of £$ shall be paid for each license, when executed; the license to continue in force for twelve calendar months from its date, for one pair of sawyers, or for two men engaged in cutting or splitting wood. That in order to prevent waste, a fair and reasonable quantity of land shall be defined and marked out, over which the license shall extend. That the quantity of timber, shingles, fencing, or firewood, removed from any land over which a license may extend, with the name of the purchaser thereof, shall be entered in a book to be kept for that purpose, F. It S. being at liberty to inspect the same, and to whom a copy of such book shall be furnished on the Ist day of every month, when the following charges must be paid :— t , a. For every 100 superficial feet of timber, either sawn or in logs 0 0 „ 1,000 shingles 0 9 „ 100 posts or rails , 1 <J „ cart or dray load of firewood 1 0 That no fire, shall be kindled on any land over which a license shall extend, for the purpose of destroying any superfluous timber or firewood. That any deviation from the above regulation, will incur an immediate forfeiture of the license.
