Weights :— Two-year olds, 7 at. ; three, 9 at.; four, 10 st. 7 lbs; five, 11 at. ; six and aged, 11 st. 3 lbs. ; 4 lbs. to mares and gelding*. The winner of any race in New Zealand, except a stake for beaten horses, to carry 4 lbs. extra. Two mile heats. The GALLOWAY STAKES of Fifteen Shi lungs each, Seven Sovereigns added, for all hones not exceeding 14 hands. No horle entered for any race of the value of Ten Sovereigns to be allowed to start. Catch weights. Heats, once round. The TALLYHO STAKES of Thuit Shillings each, Fifteen Sovereigns added. Over four sets of hurdle*, 3 feet 9 inch** high. No person not a subscriber of One Guinea to the fund will be allowed to *nter a horse for any race except the Hack Stakes and Selling Plate ; nor for the latter races, unless a subscriber to the amount of Ten Shillings. Th* prizes will be paid by the Treasurer on the Thursday following the racrs, at the Wakatu Hotel, at Eleven o'clock. All horses (except for the Hack Stakes, Selling Plate, and Consolation Stakes) to be nfcmed, and colours of the riders declared, under a sealed cover to the Secretary of the Turf Club, at the Wakatu Hotel, on or before Seven o'clock on the evening of Friday, the 1 Oth -March. Horses for the Hack Stake* and Selling Plate to be entered on the ground. No other post entries allawed. The rule* of the " Nelson Turf Club " will be strictly enforced. No money will be given by the Stewards unless two horses, the bonafide property of separate persons, do start. A bell will ring for saddling, and another for starting ; not more than five minutes allowed after the last bell, when the hones at the post will be started. Horses to be at the post for the Tradesmen's Plate and Ladies' Purse at Eleven o'clock on each day. All persons are requested not to bring dogs on the course. C. Elliott, Secretary of the Turf Club.
