FLOWER SHOW

DISPLAY AT RICHMOND CHAMPION ROSE EXHIBITED BY MRS P. C. HURST The Richmond Spring Flower’Show was a very successful function, and was well attended by the public. Archdeacon Smith of Nelson opened the show. Nothwithstanding adverse weather conditions there was a splendid showing of flowers, and the decorative work was of the usual high standard. The champion rose was exhibited by Mrs P. C. Hurst, Nelson. There was a good display of fruit and vegetables. The entries in the cooking section were of good quality, while in the industrial section the soft toys and felt articles were specially mentioned. Mr V. F. Sigglekow showed an exhibit which proved very attractive. I' consisted of coloured photographs and a number of articles made from metal, etc. The judges were: Pot plants and cut blooms, Mr G. Wearing, decorative, Mr C. Hill; fruit and vegetables, Mr H. Schroder; domestic, Mrs W. Hill; industrial, Mrs T. Dee; school classes, Mr H. B. Sanders.
