NEW TOWN CLERK OF MOTUEKA

ASHBURTON MAN APPOINTED At the last meeting of the Motueka Borough Council Mr C. D. Wilson, of Ashburton, was appointed Town Clerk in succession to Mr A. L. Kirk, who has resigned to take up the post of secre tary to the South Canterbury Catchment Board, with headquarters in Timaru. Mr Wilson has had extensive local body experience, having occupied his present position of assistant-Town Clerk to the Ashburton Borough Council for six and a-half years. Prior to that he was clerk to the Ashburton C< anty Council for nine years. Mr Wilson. who is aged 33 and a married man with two children, will take up his duties on 3rd January. During the war period Mr Wilson served as an aircrew officer in the R.N.Z.A.F., holding the rank of flying officer. He has just recently returned to New Zealand after three and a-half years in England. There were 22 applicants for the position.
