WEATHER FORECAST FINE CONDITIONS Wellington, This Day. Situation: Pressure remains high over northern New' Zealand, but is falling in the south. Forecast to 5 p.m. Thursday: Variable breezes tending to northwesterly to-morrow, weather tine and rool to-night but milder tomorrow. Further outlook: Freshening north-westerly breezes, fair and mild. Yesterday’s sunshine and southwesterly wind brought the maximum shade temperature in the city to 80 degrees, making it the hottest day so far this summer. The previous highest shade temperature for the season was that of 78.3 degrees recorded on 10th November. The sun shone brightly for 12 hours 4 minutes yesterday. To-day, with a light north-easterly breeze, was a little cooler, but the weather continued fine and sunny.
